Art at the convent Paradies

Admire the three different collections in the convent, Klostergut Paradies:

Wyser Print Collection – Engravings
The Wyser Collection has approximately 350 old prints from the region of Schaffhausen.

Rohr Collection – Maps
The Rohr Collection encompasses around 80 pages of old maps of the Canton of Schaffhausen, 47 of which are exhibited. Based on today’s knowledge, the collection of old maps of the Canton of Schaffhausen is practically complete. Apart from maps of the canton there are also plans of the Town of Schaffhausen on show. One of the first printed maps of Switzerland completes this exhibition.

Mettler Collection – Art Collection
Approximately 300 pictures of the Rhine Falls, that were made before the year 1850 (construction of the railway bridge) that were compiled by the private collector, Peter Mettler. The collection encompasses oil paintings, drawings, water colour paintings, gouaches, xylographs, etchings, copper engravings, aquatints, lithographs, etc.
