Nestled in the hilly countryside between north and south Randen, Wilchingen presents itself as a cosy and interesting place for relaxation and recreation.
St. Othmar's Church thrones high above the village on a hill covered with vineyards. Visit the local village museum and poet museum, the autumn festivals and the many other events.
In the local and poet museum you will find items from local history, a fabulous collection of paintings by the artist Jakob Ritzmann, as well as the poets, Berta Hallauer, Albert Bächtold and Ruth Blum's parlours.
On the last Sunday in September and the first in October the traditional autumn wine festival (Winzerfest) takes place. Along Dorfstrasse there are exhibitions with changing themes, barn pubs, carnival booths, wine tasting, wine cellar tours, horse-drawn carriage rides, musical entertainment, a miniature train, and much more.
Not only during the autumn festival but also on any other day of the year you can take a ride on a horse-drawn carriage. Ride with horse and carriage through the vineyards and then do some wine tasting or visit a wine cellar - absolutely delightful!
Experience the region around Wilchingen on foot. Various round trips which take from one to three hours - are signposted with blue signs.
