1. Stein am Rhein

The charm of this medieval town is captivating to visitors. It is famous for its well-preserved Old Town centre, with painted facades and half-timbered houses.

Start the day with a small breakfast and a good cup of coffee. Whether in one of the cosy restaurants, cafés or bakeries.

2. Culture compact

Experience up close in Lindwurm Museum, how a nice middle-class family lived and worked around 1850. Or visit St. George’s Abbey, the former Benedictine monastery - one of the best preserved monasteries of Switzerland.

3. Hohenklingen Castle

Since the year 1200, Hohenklingen Castle has towered over the enchanting town of Stein am Rhein. It is the main landmark of Stein am Rhein and takes visitors back to the Middle Ages. Whether on foot, by bike or by car, the way up to the castle is worthwhile. Enjoy a picturesque view and be enchanted by the history.

4. Catch of the day

In one of the numerous restaurants, enjoy freshly caught fish from the Rhine and Lake Constance.

5. Experience cultural stories

Let yourself be guided through the lively little town and have your mind wander off to the Middle Ages whilst looking at the architecture and the murals.

The Munot Fortress towers majestically over the Old Town of Schaffhausen. There are fantastic panoramic views from here. It’s definitely worth climbing the 277 steps.
