Rose garden Charlottenfels

The approximately 300 square metre rose and peony garden was once magnificently laid out by the Swiss "Rose Father" Dietrich Woessner as a style and test garden. The roses were replanted by the Rosenfreunde Schaffhausen in 2009. Just below the roses, over 90 different varieties of peony have been growing since 2014. Right by the garden entrance, wild species grow from which the numerous varieties were bred. There are also ten varieties that Sir Peter Smithers bred in Ticino.
